Natural dyeing

These are the results of recent natural dyeing experiments. The pinks are from avocados, greens from daffodil flowers & the rest from conifer bark, pine cones, golden rod flowers & red onion skins. Various threads - cotton, wool & silk. I'm planning to weave some very small landscape colour sketches with them.

  1. Pink avocados and green daffodils!? Have to admit, those weren't the colours I was expecting.

  2. No, neither was I! But I had heard that avocados dyed pink. It’s a lovely soft pink. And as for green from the Daffodils, I don’t know where that came from. I didn’t use any mordants so I don’t expect the colours will last but they’re fun while they last.
